SKU222 Torre de Oña Reserve Wine
ORIGIN: D.O. Ca. Rioja, Spain. VARIETAL COMPOSITION: 95% Tempranillo blended with 5% of Mazuelo. AGING: It was aged for 20 months in French (40% brand new and 35% two-year-old barrels) and Caucasian (25%) oak in order to preserve and highlight the fruity character. TASTING NOTES: Medium-high intensity, cherry-red with a garnet-red rim. Clean and bright. Intense nose. Very fruity, with aromas of forest berries, blackberries, raspberries and blueberries, enveloping the notes of painstaking barrel ageing. This leads to toasty notes of bakery, mocha, tobacco and Lebanon cedar. In the mouth it is well-balanced with a pleasant acidity, and firm, polished tannins that provide structure and reaffirm its balance. Its time in the bottle provides an attractive final roundness. PAIRING SUGESTION: The perfect match to all kinds of stews, casseroles and meat-based recipes. Also ideal with spicy sauces and medium-aged cheeses. HISTORY: Torre de Oña Reserva is the result of an exhaustive knowledge of our best plots. A modern wine, raised in contact with French and Caucasian oak, that highlights the personality of a unique estate. A wine with elegance, character, colour and freshness. Elegance and length that will seduce Rioja Alavesa lovers’ palates. Robert Parker gave it 91 Points.
